The Association was created in 2105 and approved by the competent Ugandan authorities. It brings together former students who were trained in Algeria in various disciplines. It constitutes a friendly footbridge between Uganda and Algeria and helps to promote better knowledge between the two brotherly peoples and the youths in two countries.
Its members are on the list of friends of the Embassy of Algeria in Kampala and are invited each year to join in the celebration of the national holiday of Algeria.
The Ambassador of Algeria and his wife have already participated in a dinner offered in their honor by the Association. Other activities are scheduled for next September, including a garden party at the Residence of the Ambassador of Algeria.
Currently more than 180 Ugandan students continue their studies in different Algerian universities.
Hundreds of Ugandan students trained in Algeria are now actively contributing to the socioeconomic development of Uganda in medicine, dental surgery, architecture, technological activities and in the field of the social sciences.
The quota of scholarships offered for many years by the Algerian Government has seen this year a substantial increase from the quarantine up to 70 scholarships.
