PM Ouyahia meets his Ugandan counterpart, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda & working session between the two delegations. Abidjan, 29/11/2017.

On the sidelines of the works of the 5th African Union/European Union Summit held in Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire) on 29-30 November, PM Ouyahia met his Ugandan counterpart, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda & on this occasion, the delegations of the two countries held a working session.

The two Prime Ministers emphasized their commitment to working together to strengthen and diversify trade between the two countries.

The meeting also allowed the two Prime Ministers to exchange views on regional and international issues of common interest. In this context, they discussed the AU-EU partnership, emphasizing the need for concerted action with a view to further strengthening it to the benefit of both parties. The question of Western Sahara was also discussed.

On this occasion, the Ugandan Prime Minister conveyed a message of brotherhood and esteem of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni to the President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika. Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia, for his part, asked his counterpart to convey the fraternal greetings of President Bouteflika to President Museveni.

The meeting was attended by Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel.
