Lamamra, Zuma underscore “need” for strengthening AU’s role within UN.

Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ramtane Lamamra and Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AU) Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma underscored, on 21 September 2016, in New York “the need” for strengthening the role, action and presence of the Organization within the United Nations.
“Lamamra and Zuma discussed elections in the AU and highlighted the need for strengthening the role, action and presence of the Organization within the UN”.
During this meeting held on the sidelines of the 71st session of the UN General Assembly, both parties broached cooperation with other international and regional organizations.
Both officials also discussed “the completion of the Western Sahara decolonization process and support to the Peace and Reconciliation Agreement in Mali”.
