President of South Africa Jacob ZUMA received in Pretoria Minister of Foreign Affairs Ramtane LAMAMRA, who handed over to him a message from President of the Republic Abdelaziz BOUTEFLIKA.
The audience was an opportunity for the two sides to exchange views on the prospects for the development of the Algerian-South African strategic partnership in the light of the forthcoming decisions that will made during the 6th session of the High Joint Commission, which is due to be held in Algiers as part of President ZUMA’s state visit to Algeria.
LAMAMRA also discussed with the South African president the Western Sahara issue as well as the conflicts in South Sudan and Somalia.
President ZUMA expressed his high appreciation for Algeria’s effective mediation for peace and reconciliation in Mali as well as for its facilitation efforts for national reconciliation in Libya.
