All member states of the African Union have been invited by the President of Côte d’Ivoire to attend the African Union / European Union Summit of Abidjan. 29/30 November 2017.

STATEMENT BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE COMMISSION OF THE AFRICAN UNION
ON THE SUMMIT OF THE AFRICAN UNION/EUROPEAN UNION OF ABIDJAN.
Addis Ababa, October 28, 2017: The Government of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire has submitted a note verbale to the African Union Commission in accordance with the relevant Union decisions on the participation of Member States in the African Union Summit. -European Union, decision reaffirmed by the meeting of the Executive Council held in Addis Ababa on 16 October 2017.
This note reiterates Côte d’Ivoire’s commitment to ensuring the appropriate conditions and taking the necessary steps for the participation of all African Union member states in the Summit scheduled for 29 and 30 November 2017 in Abidjan.
At the request of Côte d’Ivoire, the said note has been communicated to the Member States of the African Union.
The African Union Commission will continue to work closely with Côte d’Ivoire, as host country, and with the European Union, to make the Abidjan Summit a success and a decisive step in strengthening the partnership between Africa and Europe.
